Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Tumsar
The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), Tumsar, was established in the year 1963, but its actual functioning began on 01/10/1972. At that time, the jurisdiction of this Market Committee was limited to 5 miles around Tumsar city. In 1977, the jurisdiction of the Market Committee was expanded to include 150 villages from Tumsar taluka and 108 villages from Mohadi taluka, making a total of 258 villages under the committee's area. The then first Chairman, Shri Ishwardayalji Patle, with a visionary approach, purchased 6.34 hectares of land on Bhandara Road and developed the basic facilities required for establishing the Market Yard. Shri Ishwardayalji Patle served as Chairman from 01/09/1971 to 20/09/1984. From 21/02/1984 to 24/07/1986, Shri D. C. Ambatkar and from 25/07/1986 to 23/05/1988, as well as from 24/05/1988 to 11/07/1988, the position was managed by administrators.
