Agricultural Produce Pledge Department

Farmers are provided with pledge loans against their agricultural produce. During the harvest season, the supply of agricultural produce in the market increases, and often, due to the excess supply, there is a possibility of prices falling. To prevent farmers from having to sell their produce at low prices and to meet their financial needs, this scheme is implemented by the Market Committee from its own funds, under the guidance of the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board. In this department, farmers are given pledge loans after fulfilling the necessary documentation requirements for their agricultural produce.

Cashier

The cashier's office accepts payments for market fees, supervision fees, agricultural produce collateral, stall rent, and other miscellaneous payments at the market committee. Receipts are issued for payments received in cash, by cheque, and through net banking, and these amounts are deposited daily into the market committee's bank account. All these transactions are recorded in the cash book.

Grain Department

In the grain department, the agricultural produce brought in by farmers is sold through an open auction system. This auction takes place in the presence of licensed buyers, commission agents, and farmers. The agricultural produce is accurately measured by licensed weighers. The auction transaction slips are issued by employees appointed by the market committee. Farmers receive the payment for their produce from the commission agents.

Shop Rental Department
